<dc:description>On Tuesday, the European Parliament approved the Omnibus I – a contested package that will lead to significant changes to the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and, as a consequence, to the German Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz. We argue that the CSDDD remains strong, especially its obligations on human rights and environmental due diligence. However, the Omnibus missed an opportunity to clarify civil liability and, most critically, significantly restricted the personal scope of the CSDDD.</dc:description>
