The Securitarian Turn in Italian Criminal Law
In 2025 and 2026, Italy’s far-right government pushed through two far-reaching “Security Decrees” using emergency powers. The two Security Decrees differ in content and together amount to a wide-ranging reform of the Italian criminal justice system.
