In seiner Doktorarbeit untersuchte er die Erfahrungen, Erzählungen und Folgen des Zweiten Sudanesischen Bürgerkriegs (SSCW) unter Südsudanesen in der Diaspora vom Zeitpunkt ihrer Vertreibung bis zu ihrer Ansiedlung in Australien und darüber hinaus. Er ist Experte für Sudan-Studien aufgrund seiner akademischen Relevanz für den ehemaligen vereinigten Sudan in der Zeit von 1956 bis 2011.

David Leek David Leek obtained his PhD in Political Science from Deakin University, Melbourne (Australia). His doctoral thesis examined the experiences, narratives and consequences of the Second Sudanese Civil War (SSCW) among diaspora South Sudanese from the moment of their displacement to their settlement in Australia and beyond. He is an expert in Sudanese studies by virtue of academic relevance to the former united Sudan between the period of 1956 to 2011.
