Manufacturing Artificial Majorities
India’s ruling BJP is systematically engineering parliamentary majorities through mass unethical defections, electoral roll purges, and wrongful nomination cancellations, thus bypassing the ballot where it cannot prevail. The anti-defection law has been hollowed out through interpretive distortion amid complicity by House Chairpersons, while the Supreme Court watches as a bystander.
