The Price of Constitutional Subversion
On February 19, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced former President Yoon Suk Yeol to life imprisonment for leading an insurrection. The events leading to his conviction began with his declaration of martial law on December 3, 2024, which banned all political activity. The Court’s reasoning shows that Yoon’s actions struck at the heart of democracy.
