Justice Clarence Thomas for President?

Die Washington Post hatte uns unlängst mit der Spekulation überrascht, Barack Obama könnte sich selbst für den Supreme Court nominieren. Jetzt landet das Politik-Blatt Nr. 1 der USA den nächsten Coup:

Justice Clarence Thomas, der einzige Schwarze unter den Richtern des US Supreme Courts und womöglich Konservativste unter den konservativen Richtern, wäre ein ausgezeichneter Kandidat der Republikaner fürs Weiße Haus in den Präsidentschaftswahlen 2012.

Klingt wie ein Witz, ist aber keiner.

Verfassungsrechtsprofessor Barack Obama gegen Verfassungsrichter Clarence Thomas.

Also, ich wäre schon mal dafür…
